I AM NOT GOING TO READ ANY MORE SPOILERS. SOMEONE HOLD ME TO THIS, GOOD LORD. XP But first, my reaction to Comic Con:

There is some weird shit goin' down this season. XP

Which is, I think, the best possible place to be. I haven't read ALL the spoilers, and I certainly haven't been reading closely, but Supernatural is at its best when it's being crazy and doing things where fandom's base reaction is, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL YOU... [e.g., include angels in the mythology]. I have no specific hopes and no reservations I am particularly attached to, but (like Sera before them, tbh! haters gonna hate) both Edlund and Carver have said general writerly/scope things that make me very trusting.

I'm down for whatever you've got cooking, Show. I don't care what it is, I don't care what angle you're aiming for. You just do your thing. And in the meantime, how 'bout we kill some evil sons of bitches and we raise a little hell? ;)

:D :D :D

That about summarizes the way I've been feeling about Season 8 :)

Yeah, I remember those days! I still think late season 1 - most of season 2 was the worst...

This. Is like my gospel for my expectations regarding show! I wish I could've put it like that myself. It's what I want to tell everyone who's like OMG they better do this! or OMG if they do that I'm going to stop watching! or even I hope this or that is/isn't going to happen!

Cause they have proved over and over again that they do know best. They have the absolute awesomest ideas. And even if there was the odd storyline that I didn't enjoy all that much, all things considered it was always for the best.

And even after seven seasons they've managed to come up with a finale that was so unexpected and brilliant that it left me gaping at the screen for a ridiculous amount of time.

And for every character we lose they manage to come up with another insanely original and adorable (or hateworthy) character.

So I really hope they keep this up and never ever bow down before fandom or "silent" majorities.

Oh, and spoilers! I hate them with a vengeance! But it's really bloody hard to be on the internet at all and stay unspoiled. You just innocently open a mail or a webpage and BAM! You're spoiled. But so far I think I've managed quite well. Actually I kind of find You Tube worst where that is concerned. And - funnily enough - fanfiction.net. Go figure! :)

I'm definitely on the mixed feelings bandwagon. But at least they recognize that they can't try to rehash s1/2 and that new things can be good things.

Mostly I'd like to quit thinking about it because it's not even *July* yet and the show doesn't come back until October. Ouch.

Whoops, that shoulda said August.

It's still a long way off though. Anyway. *hides*

I tend to think that there's a certain amount of misdirection that goes on in the spoilers--they may technically be speaking the truth, but I'm sure it'll pan out differently than the way it's described makes it seem. So yeah, there's only so much thought you can put into it, really. In the end, you just have to wait and see how things work out.

Ahh I need to stop looking at spoilers too. I've only read them when I happen across them on tumblr and all the ones I read make me really pessimistic about next season. But then I realize that we really don't know anything yet, and even if the general plot isn't what I was hoping for as long as they "do their thing" I'll be happy! As long as we get to see Dean's face and partake in angst, THERE IS NO WAY IT WON'T BE AWESOME.

The spoilers kind of leave me... blank, which is either better or worse than being bothered by them, idk. I do feel like I've lost a lot of trust in the writers over the past couple seasons, myself, (although maybe not Carver; I haven't heard many show-related quotes from him re: this season, but I've often enjoyed him in the past) but I'm still excited over season 8 and hoping some things aren't exactly like they seem, as is often the case, and am just willing to go with the flow for other things. Oh, whatever, just give me some crying!Dean and I'll be all gooey eyed either way; I can't deny it! ~_~

I'm working on re-framing my twisted relationship with this show!

THIS. Me too, the past few seasons more than currently. I wouldn't say I'm where you are, but I am in fact looooving this hiatus, anyway. There are so many possibilities, spoilers or not. We don't know what's going to happen, really, and I am finding myself enjoying that.

And I love this post too. It makes me happyyy. ;D
