Hi, lovelies. <3 I'm super homesick for fandom right now! I feel like I'm missing alllll the things and ALL OF YOUUUU. But Show starts in 1.5 weeks, which is exciting, and I just read the article that pretty much validates our fandom:

Trying to make contact with a ghost? The key to getting them to respond may be pie -- or at least a question about it.

That's the surprising claim made by paranormal researcher Matt Schulz, a San Diego-based art director when he's not exploring old houses, hotels or ships.

"It sounds strange, but a question like 'What kind of pie do you like? Cherry or Apple?' actually seems to get a response from spirits," Schulz told a group of wannabe paranormal researchers during a midnight expedition on the Star Of India, a 149-year-old ship that is harbored down in San Diego.

It's a technique Schulz learned a few years back from another investigator.

"Asking questions like ''Do you like cherry or apple pie?' or 'Do you prefer lemons or oranges?' seems innocuous," he told The Huffington Post a few days after the expedition. "But, for some strange reason, the spirits will answer them."

Read on @The Huffington Post

Firstly, ohhh, San Diego, honey.

Secondly, who do you think that "other investigator" was? (The Ghostfacers.) Do you think Sam started read the Huffington Post, since Dean isn't around to do it while in Purgatory? (No.) Did he read this article? (Yes, but only after someone else linked it to him. Charlie?) Is there something to this pie business? would it be massively kitschy if there actually was? (Yes.) Would Show get away with it anyway? (Probably.) Do spirits have an enhanced tense of taste? How much does that suck when you're incorporeal?

What do you think? What's new for y'all? DO YOU LIKE CHERRY OR APPLE PIE??

For some reason, my first thought was that it seemed like a rude question to ask someone who doesn't have taste buds. Aren't you just taunting them? I can't help imagining the response to such a question being in the realm of, "Oh, I love key lime. Or at least I did WHEN I WAS ABLE TO EAT IT, YOU DICKBISCUIT." And now I really want that fic. I don't even care what fandom.

I got another kitty! Tiny little ting I'm not entirely convinced should be away from the mama, but it was abandoned, so nothing to be done about that :( Good thing work has started giving me real hours again, it was getting tight enough feeding the others. Also, I am thinking of taking up doll/figure sculpting as a hobby. I like both cherry and apple pie, but I prefer cherry with whipped creme and apple with vanilla ice creme.

Are you enjoying your trip? Anything exciting happen? HAVE YOU FINALLY WRESTLED A BEAR??

Hmm. While I imagine an airy mass would be more aware of and in tune with some things, taste strikes me as too... Idk, physical? To carry over that way? I mean, even for the living taste can be overridden by so many things-- illness, overpowering smell, fear. I can see scent carrying, as it is largely airy mass of its own sort; with that in mind, I must admit I'm reevaluating, as a sense of smell does imply some manner of taste. Perhaps a strong smell of something tasty is as taste when considered by any airy mass? In that case, I can see how they could achieve a whole new level of taste assuming they, like, become one with the smell. Then again, it may well come down to how an individual airy mass's perception of taste intermingles with their particular flavor of being an airy mass. Now that I'm thinking about it, an airy mass with synesthesia may well have a completely different relationship with taste than, say, my own airy mass would (assuming, of course, that an airy mass retains synesthesia). Is "airy mass" really correct? Theoretically, something with enough consciousness to taste or at least be aware of not tasting must have at least slightly more substance than air... Lol, loving the mental of, "Why are you being haunted?" "I may have offered chocolate..."

He's getting along fairly well with the others, which is good since any one of them could eat him and still have room for dessert. I'm a little unsure of his eating habits so far, though; I don't get the feeling that he's been on solid food for very long. I'm trying my best to keep him happy and comfortable, and he's adjusting well-- when he feels like he's getting all the attention due him, of course XD Pretty much everyone gets shortchanged on hours just before the holiday season kicks up; I had twenty-six and a half hours last week, after three weeks of twenty-two and a half :/ I've flirted with the idea of sculpting on and off, but never really got past little Scuply creations. Then I was browsing an online craft store-- not looking for anything, just looking around-- and happened on a page for polymer clay meant especially for doll sculpting. One page led to another and then to another and the next thing I knew, I had thirty tabs open to information and tutorials and different sites for buying supplies; I haven't committed to anything as yet, but I keep going back to places I bookmarked and I'm really feeling it in a way that I usually don't with my (admittedly frequent) phases of passing interest in this or that craft thing. I also think sculpting would slip past most of my numerous mental blockages when attempting to take up different craftly hobbies. I'm not sure yet exactly what kind of dolls I want to make, but some of the sites showed beautiful figurine style dolls that I'd love to try; if I do decide to go ahead, I think I'd like to start off with something fannish, a little character figure (a more ambitious one than the Batman blog thing I made my brother XD). I would really love to do a mixed media piece, polymer body with doll hair and cloth clothing, but I don't know how much practice it would take to get there. If you mean the kinds of cloth Japanese dolls that I'm thinking of, I am seriously jealous of your grandmother!

Pfft, that's funnier than it should be. I'm a big pie person myself, though my favorites run toward apple, cherry, berry, lemon, chocolate and pecan. Seriously, though, I am like Peter Percival's pet pig, Porky. It's weird, I love ice cream with whipped creme, but I only like one or the other at a time with pie and I prefer most one way or the other.

Yay! Aw. BUT DID YOU WRESTLE THE PIGEONS? :O Oh, wow. Human or animal or both? At first I thought you were gonna say you were in a fetus museum. What kind of museum was it? Were the jars of fetuses art pieces or something? I'm trying to imagine what kind of exhibit would display fetuses alongside shells and I am seriously blanking XD

ETA: WTF WHY IS THIS SO LONG OMG I'M SO SORRY D:

LOLOL okay then. Gotta love when meat life and fandom collide. I now want the Winchesters to run across this dude, and Sam will be all, uh huh. And Dean all, fuck yeah, we need pie to lure the ghosts out, and then eats it all before they do. <3

I took a walk with my co-workers a few days ago and we went to see a cemetery in the city we attended to the conference. They were badmouthing one guy that had been buried there... and got punished for that with horse chestnuts falling on their heads all of a sudden XD Seems there are other ways to get some response from ghosts :P

So Jeremy Carver said Dean was intended to be unfair to Sam regarding his life choices. Dean doesn't know the story behind it. I haven't seen it yet, but I will tonight. I'm so excited.

BAMF! DEAN!!

BAMF! DEAN!

OMG!!! best thing EVER!
